Not to be all egocentric, but.. check this out!

* My Flaxseed Owie Bags were featured on Inhabitot's Blog Picks of the Day. Inhabitots is an awesome blog, devoted to sustainable design for the next generation.

* My shop was also on Moms by Heart- a great blog with TONS of great money-saving ideas.

* My Flaxseed Headache Helper was in this beautiful Etsy Treasury, entitled The Sky is Crying, created by DesignsByWendyT.

Thank you so much to the above folks, as well as to all my customers. I'm having so much fun with Enchanted Dandelions, and I really appreciate your support!

200 sales!!!

I just reached my goal of 200 sales!

A big thank you to all my customers. I know it sounds cheesy, but I take such pride and joy everytime I make something, as well as when I think about little ones around the world using my products. (Yes, around the world- I've had orders from Austrailia, Japan, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, Canada and the UK!).

And a special thank you to my family and friends (including my "imaginary" ones, you know who you are) for all the advice and feedback you've given me, as well as listening to me ramble on about my little business. *muah*

22 Pounds of Flaxseeds!

I received my second wholesale order last week. A boutique in California wants 44 custom Owie Bags. (I blogged about them here and you can find them in my Etsy shop here). I'm SO excited and am honored that they chose my product to carry. They originally ordered 24, and when I received an email from them the following day, I was afraid to read it, worried that they might have changed thier minds. But, they actually decided to order an additional 20!

Altogether, it's going to take 4 yards of flannel and 22 pounds of flaxseeds. Hats off to the hubby for picking the flaxseeds up for me. It only took him going to two different store in two trips (a week apart) to gather enough for this project.

Well, I better get busy. Did I mention that they want them in time for a sale on the 10th?

Flannel Owie Bags - SALE!

Back in March, Abbie had her first ear infection. It was AWFUL. The only thing that brought any form of relief was the moist heat of microwaved wet washcloth. Unfortunately, it did not hold heat very long, resulting in frequent trips to the kitchen- not very easy when all Abbie wanted to do was snuggle. I took to my sewing room and made a little flannel pouch filled with rice.

While the rice bag made the rest of that week bearable, I started reading about the benefits of instead using flaxseed. Flaxseeds will hold on to that moist heat a lot longer than rice, as the oil doesn't evaporate as readily as the rice's moisture content. Flaxseeds are also very smooth, which gives the bags very unique feel, and unlike pokey rice, they will conform perfectly to wherever you need it the most.

I have since made quite a few flaxseed bags for around the house. They were absolutely wonderful during Ollie's homebirth where I used them both hot (for my back) and cold (for my head/neck). And while there fortunately hasn't been any more earaches, they definitely come in handy with all the bumps and bruises that are part of a toddler's daily life.

I love them so much, I've added them to my Etsy shop a couple months ago. However, last week, I tweaked the pattern and made them a little bigger. To make room for the new style, all of the current ones are now on sale for just $2.75 each! This is the perfect opportunity to give them a try. They also make great gifts!

And remember- I'm always up for custom orders. Just contact me via Etsy or leave your email address in the comments section, and we'll work on designing an Owie Bag in your choice of size and print!

I can't believe it!

Enchanted Dandelions is going to be sold in an actual store! I had sold a couple loveys to an online friend a few weeks ago. She was showing them to one of her friends, who just so happens to own Healthy Baby Boutique. She's still working on an official website, but here's an article when the shop first opened last fall. She contacted me, and not only wants to carry my Loopy Loveys, but all my other stuff as well!! I'll have my own little display and everything. I'm absolutely giddy about the whole thing! Unfortunately, since I've had so many custom orders lately, I don't have much in stock to send her way. So, I'll be sewing like a madwoman these next couple weeks to put together a nice package. I'll keep you posted, as I embark on this awesome opportunity! I had no clue last May when I started Enchanted Dandelions, that it would ever do this well.

Less than two weeks...

... until my first craft show! I'm so excited! For those in the Roanoke area, I'd LOVE it if you wanted to stop by. It's Saturday, November 17th, at Oak Grove Elementary School, from 9am until 3pm. In the meantime, I have so much to do to get ready:
  • Finish painting my banner
  • Print out hang tags for everything
  • Arrange for my sister to come and help
  • Bug Thomas to build me a small shelf for my table
  • Figure out how to arrange my table
  • And most importantly, keep sewing my bum off to build stock to take with me!

I currently have to take: 8 bibs, 6 burp cloths, 7 cloth wipe sets, 5 Loopy Loveys, and 1 rag quilt. (Subject to change as they are still available in my shop for sale...). My goal is to take 10 bibs, 15 burp cloths, 10 cloth wipe sets, 15 Loopy Loveys and 3 rag quilts. So, I have quite a bit to do in the two weeks.

Unfortunately, we've all be sick with a cold the past few days, so I haven't done diddly squat. Mostly we've all been snuggling up together under a blanket, and watching TV. They seem a bit perkier this morning, so hopefully I can get back to work this afternoon.

Pretending to be a Webmaster...

Again, I apologize for not updating this very much lately. Whenever I get the chance to be on the computer, I've been working on my new website. You can check it out here: http://www.enchanteddandelions.com/. I really have no clue what I'm doing. Just making it up as I go along. It's been fun, though, playing around with HTML, learning what an RSS is (I have my latest 3 posts from this blog automatically update on there via feedburner. Pretty cool, uh?), figuring out what exactly FTP is and how to upload my own stuff to the website. It's definitely been a learning experience! I'd love to hear your feedback on how it's coming along so far. Do you have any suggestions? See any typos? Is it easy to navigate? I appreciate it!
