And now for something completely different...

My friend Robin is knitting Abbie, Isaiah and Oliver each a hat (strawberry, blueberry, and lobster, respectively). So, when she asked if somebody could make her a knitting needle case, I jumped at the chance to return the favor. I'm not a knitter, and personally have never seen a roll-up needle case before, but with Multicrafty's wonderful tutorial, I was able to come up with this:

It contains 25 pockets, including some wider ones for scissors, and umm... well, whatever else knitters use (See, told you I was no knitter. In fact, in the above picture, those "needles" are really chopsticks!). The fabric is from Heidi Grace's line, and I absolutely love it!

I also made her a mini-case for her to keep her stash of stitch markers. From looking at the pictures above, she says she already loves it. (Plus, I already have a custom request for 2 more!)

As a knitter I will say it's gorgeous!!! Love the fabric! I am a circular needle girl or I would be ordering up one myself!!
Beautiful work!

That is so cute! I have a friend who is an avid knitter and I'm passing this on to her.

Really nice job. Would you mind showing a picture of the mini case- or explaining how you made it? I am interested in making a mini case for stitch markers too.

Amanda-

I don't have a picture of the mini case, but it was basically a little pouch that she could drop the stitch markers into, and then roll up & tie to keep them contained.

Thanks everyone!
